Endpoint Security in 2026: Twelve Tools, Three Paths, One Critical Choice

A deep dive into twelve AI-powered endpoint protection tools shows the field has split into three camps: editable files, web-based slides, and image-first decks. Choosing the right one depends on what you need to deliver.

The Endpoint Security Landscape Has Fractured

Last week, I wrote about how Codex was killing presentation software. My thesis was simple: PowerPoint would survive, but it would slowly retreat to the final delivery file. The real action, I argued, was happening in AI tools that generate slides from scratch.

The question that separates them isn't which one has the most stars. It's this: after the AI finishes, what do you actually want back? A file you can tweak? A link you can share? Or a set of visuals you can post online?

The Editable File Camp: PowerPoint Is Still the Destination

If your deck will be passed around to bosses, clients, or colleagues who need to make changes, editability has to come first. This camp looks the most traditional, but it's actually the hardest to pull off. Generating a pretty full-page image is easy. Turning titles, body text, charts, shapes, and animations into objects that can still be modified in PowerPoint is a whole different beast.

Anthropic's Official PPTX Skill: Boring, But Built for Production

Anthropic's official skills repository sits at around 169,000 stars, though that number covers the whole collection. Its PPTX skill doesn't show off any flashy demo images. The README is all about creation, modification, templates, speaker notes, overflow checks, and page-by-page reviews.

That says a lot. The official team cares about whether the delivered file opens, whether you can edit it, whether text spills off the slide, and whether notes get lost. They're not trying to wow you with a gorgeous screenshot. If you're treating AI-generated PPTs as a long-term office capability, this skill feels like the foundation.

PPT Master: The Most Complete PowerPoint-First Tool

PPT Master, with roughly 46,800 stars, is the heavyweight among independent PPT projects. It can start from documents, PDFs, web pages, or Markdown and hand back a real, editable PPTX. Shapes, connectors, charts, tables, masters, animations, and speaker notes are all in scope.

The data-journalism-style example it shows is information-dense, but what I care about is this: after the chart is generated, you can still go back into PowerPoint and adjust it. That's the killer feature for formal reports and commercial delivery. The trade-off is a heavier setup, results that depend heavily on the underlying model, and a final round of manual polish that you can't skip.

Huashu Design: Choosing the Aesthetic Direction First

Huashu Design, from the designer known as Huashu, sits at about 23,000 stars. It feels like a design studio stuffed into an agent. For decks longer than five pages, it first produces a direction mockup and two sample pages. Once the visual language is locked in, it expands to the full set.

That extra step solves a common AI design problem: when someone says 'make it more premium,' everyone pictures something different. Huashu Design builds the visual style in HTML first, then tries to export an editable PPTX. It's great for projects where brand and design consistency matter. If you're in a hurry and want a finished deck in one shot, the confirmation steps might feel like a drag.

Baoyu Design: Polish on the Web, Deliver in PowerPoint

Baoyu Design, the new skill from Baoyu, has around 3,400 stars. PPT is just one part of its broader design capabilities. It generates and edits presentations in the browser, then exports two kinds of PPTX: one that keeps text, shapes, images, and animations, and another that treats each page as a full image to preserve the web visual.

I like having that choice. Need to keep editing? Go with the editable mode. Want the screen to look exactly like the web preview? Pick the image mode. The catch is that the whole pipeline is heavier than a typical PPT skill, and it demands more from your local environment.

Dashi PPT Skill: Edit in the Browser, Then Hand Off

Dashi PPT Skill, with about 5,100 stars, takes a more balanced route. It generates and edits in the browser, then can deliver HTML, PDF, and an editable PPTX. It doesn't have an extreme personality, but it's easy to grasp: the web page is for preview and modification, the PPTX is for entering the existing office workflow. If you want AI design efficiency without giving up traditional file delivery, this is a solid first look.

The Web Page Camp: Presentations That Live Online

The second camp isn't obsessed with PowerPoint files. They care more about how the deck looks when presented, whether animations flow, whether it goes fullscreen, whether there are speaker notes, and whether you can send a link and have someone open it directly. In other words, they're making presentations—PPT is just the name everyone uses.

Frontend Slides: Three Visual Previews to Set the Tone

Frontend Slides has around 27,500 stars, and its author's launch post on X has racked up about 1.52 million views—one of the most viral projects in this wave. Its smartest move is generating three visual previews before starting the real work. Most people can't articulate exactly what style they want, but picking from three images is almost effortless.

The final output is an HTML presentation you can open and share directly. It can also extract text, images, and notes from an existing PPTX and rebuild it. It's ideal for tech talks, public speaking, and online distribution. If you absolutely must hand over an editable PPTX, you'll need to plan for a conversion step.

Guizang PPT Skill: A Tool with Its Own Temperament

Guizang PPT Skill is an independent PPT project with about 24,000 stars. It offers two visual systems: an editorial-magazine style suited for narrative and personal expression, and a Swiss International style for products, analysis, facts, and methodologies. It also includes current-page and next-page previews, speaker notes, timers, rehearsal mode, a laser pointer, and a highlighter—it treats 'how you deliver the thing' as part of the skill.

This tool has strong aesthetics and strong boundaries. Large tables, traditional training decks, and multi-person revision loops aren't its sweet spot.

HTML PPT Studio: A Toolbox Full of Templates and Animations

HTML PPT Studio, at roughly 7,900 stars, doesn't push a single fixed aesthetic. Instead, it offers dozens of themes, full templates, single-page layouts, and animations, plus a speaker window, next-slide preview, script, and timer. If Guizang is a designer with a strong signature, HTML PPT Studio is a well-stocked toolbox. It's great for quickly producing a web PPT that can be presented and performed with rich styles. If you ultimately need a PowerPoint file, you'll need to add a conversion step.

Open Slide: Treating a Deck Like a Long-Term Project

Open Slide, with about 6,500 stars, bundles comments, revisions, speaker notes, timers, and web publishing. It's built for iterative collaboration between humans and agents. I see it as a deck becoming a living web project. You can comment, modify, keep versions, and republish—every change stays in the project, rather than bouncing around a group chat as 'final_v8.pptx.' Right now, the README focuses on HTML and PDF export; PowerPoint isn't a priority.

The Image-First Camp: Slides as Finished Art

The third camp is blunt: make every page look as good as possible first. Text, illustrations, composition, and texture all live in a single complete image, then get stitched together into a PPTX or PDF. This route produces the most visually striking results and is perfect for social media, but the downside is that changing a single word might mean regenerating the entire page.

Baoyu Slide Deck: Full-Page Visuals First

Baoyu's slide deck skill, part of the baoyu-skills collection with around 25,000 stars, is a widely shared route in Chinese-language circles. It analyzes the content and audience, sets the outline, page count, and style, then generates full-page images one by one, finally assembling them into a PPTX and PDF. It's great for knowledge sharing, social media, and content that needs a unified visual identity. If your boss likes to change three numbers at the last minute, this path will be painful.

Codex PPT Skill: Letting an Image Model Handle the Visuals

Codex PPT Skill, with about 4,900 stars, uses an image model to generate each page, then combines them into a PPTX. The advantage is obvious: the model handles the artwork, text, and style simultaneously, often yielding visual impact that traditional templates can't match. The trade-off is also clear: each page is a single image, so editing individual elements is limited. It suits concept decks for product launches, personal sharing, and anything where first impressions matter. Data-heavy reports that need constant updates should be cautious.

Wang Hong Handwritten-Style PPT: Style as Substance

Finally, there's my own Wang Hong handwritten-style PPT. It lives in the z-skills collection, which has just 323 stars—nothing compared to the hits above. But this skill represents what I believe most strongly: after AI generates PPTs, personal style becomes even more valuable. When I recreated Wang Hong's handwritten report, I was drawn to that feeling of 'thinking still visible on the page.' It doesn't stuff everything into neat cards. Instead, it uses handwriting, arrows, formulas, coordinates, and step-by-step animations to show how a problem gets worked through. It's not for every presentation, but for tech, math, or a complex argument, it has remarkable distinctiveness.

Do More Stars Mean Better Fit?

After reviewing all twelve tools, my answer is clear: don't look at the rankings first. Look at what you need to deliver.

  • For executive reports, client deliverables, or anything that will be revised later: start with Anthropic's PPTX or PPT Master.
  • For brand-sensitive projects with high design requirements but a need to keep editing: Huashu Design or Baoyu Design.
  • For tech talks, public speaking, or online distribution: Frontend Slides, Guizang, HTML PPT Studio, or Open Slide.
  • For knowledge cards, social media, or full-page visual impact: Baoyu Slide Deck or Codex PPT Skill.
  • For technical reasoning, math explanations, or personal style: the Wang Hong handwritten style.

If I were preparing a formal briefing for my boss, I'd pick PPT Master or Anthropic's official route, because the file will almost certainly be revised. If I were giving a tech talk, I'd look at Frontend Slides and Guizang, because the live presentation matters more than the file format. If I were making content for social media, Baoyu Slide Deck and Codex would save me time. And if I wanted to explain a complex technical problem with the feeling of a human thinking it through, I'd go with my own handwritten style.

The Bottom Line: No More One-Size-Fits-All

The most important takeaway from this survey is that AI presentations no longer have a single answer. The moat around PowerPoint software is still eroding. In the past, the fight was about templates, animations, and layout convenience. Now these twelve tools are fighting over something else: who can understand the audience better, who can turn source material into narrative, who can turn narrative into visuals, and who can stick with you until you're ready to present.

PowerPoint will be around for a long time, and so will HTML, PDF, and full-page images. But the old workflow—open a blank deck, drag text boxes around—is fading fast. The entry point for making a presentation is now a sentence, an article, a report, or a skill you wrote yourself.
